I have to keep reminding myself...

that Christmas isn't over yet. Last week we went down to Chicago to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas (Harry Chrisgiving) with Luke's family. We went over to Lukes aunt's house for turkey and all the trimmings in the afternoon and then went home and opened presents that night. Jordan didn't really get the whole present part but thats okay--there's always next year.We were actually considering decorating a tree in our apartment this year--but after Luke taught Jordan to throw the ornament balls into the tree--I've changed my mind. Luckily Grandma S didn't mind (even when two of the glass ones broke!).

(notice the bottom half of the tree no longer has ornaments)

It is a Spencer Family tradition that the girls go shopping on Friday and the dads watch the kids. This year we decided to start our shopping early by hitting up the outlet mall at MIDNIGHT on Thanksgiving.

(Luke's sister Lisa, her friend Kara, and Luke's sister Kari)

All I can say was it was CRAZY packed and I will probably never do it again. The lines were insane and NOTHING was worth waiting in line for 30+ minutes. We were back home and in bed by two and up by eight to go shopping again. We met up with the other Spencer girls for our annual lunch at the Olive Garden and then headed home to take naps and recover. Next year we are skipping the shopping and doing pedicures/massages and lunch instead. Oh and the boys hired babysitters so they could have their own outing--skeet shooting.

Surprisingly, Chicago was A LOT colder than Minneapolis. Jordan was dying to go outside so I bundled him up and out he went. He lasted a lot longer than both grandma and me! And we attempted to take a family picture...

We had so much fun and can't wait for our next Spencer family get together.

We are such a fun family. . . Thanks for the memories. we can't wait till we get to see you again, oh wait, 6 days, are you sure you don't want to bring Jordan. We could all take turns babysitting while you frolicked all over NYC Granny S.
