Developing Quite Nicely

Jordan recently had his four year old checkup and while I won't bore you with the statistics I will share one piece of information. They give you a sheet of paper with your child's updated stats and then at the bottom is a bunch of information about what your typical four year old should/could be doing. It goes over diet, sleep, and development. The very last line under development says "may have an imaginary friend." I'm assuming that imaginary pets and siblings fall under this category too and if so then we are right on track for being four.

It all started with Jordan's imaginary dog Roger. He's blue like Blue in Blue's Clues (but he is NOT Blue from Blue's Clues). If you remember back a few months ago I banned Roger from gymnastics. Roger used to go EVERYWHERE with us and was often put in time out (by Jordan). When Grandma Lucy comes to visit she and Jordan take Roger on walks and even bring along a poo poo sack. Roger has his own leash and comes along on bike rides. His presence is starting to fade though.

Then a few months ago Jordan started talking about his imaginary sister Charlotte. She is 16 8 years old -- no that is not a typo -- and she has pink hair. Charlotte sleeps in Jordan's closet and her favorite foods are lemonade, hot chocolate, apples, and pb&j sandwiches. And the other day he informed me that she knocks down trees and plays at the playground.

So if imaginary pets and siblings are typical for fours then we are developing quite nicely.

Oh my gosh, I am just picturing the poo sack for the imaginary dog and it's cracking me up!

I am impressed that he could 'count' as high as 168!

Do Charlotte and Rodger get along? Is Charlotte banned from gym-chapstick too? Does this mean I have finally have a niece? So many questions I hope to get answered when I see you and Jordan and Luke in a week.

Heather, I think she meant "sixteen Eight". At least that is what I imagined when I read it. Alicia, is that correct?

Alicia, maybe he has had a dream of that he WILL have a little sister named charlotte.
