...or may not know about Luke. Leading up to Luke's birthday I teased him that I was going to post something about him everyday in March as a birthday tribute. He hated it, but I can't let the month go by without a little something. I mean he is 1/3 of the Spencer family and the least represented on this blog. So it's only fitting that an entire post be dedicated to him (he's going to kill me for this). Here we go, 10 things you may (0r may not) know about Luke...
1. He was born in Driggs, Idaho. I suspect he was born in a barn but he 'claims' they had a four-room hospital in that tiny town. That I have to see!
2. He plays the guitar. It's one of his hidden talents. He also LOVES the Beatles and my favorite song to hear him play on the guitar is Blackbird.
3. He LOVES basketball. He plays any chance he can get and will play for hours on end. Also, working out is really important to him. He lifts weights or plays basketball six days a week. He VERY RARELY will take the day off.
4. He builds model airplanes--and is really good at it. They come in these plastic molds and he glues them together, sands them down smooth, paints them (with an airbrush), puts decals on them, and then distresses them. He puts a lot of work and attention to detail into each one. He also has lots of books on airplanes that he scours to make sure his models are historically correct.
5. When he was in grade school he read his History book over and over--for fun! He loves the History Channel and the Discovery Channel. He knows a lot about WWII, airplanes, Roman Empires, etc.
6. Occasionally he is chew-emic. Meaning he will chew something for the flavor/taste and then spit it out because he doesn't want all the calories/fat. His sister diagnosed him and he claims he doesn't do it as much anymore. Although a few weeks ago I bought Dove Bars and caught him eating the chocolate off of the bar and THROWING THE ICE CREAM AWAY!!! Don't worry, Dove Bars will not be wasted on him again. : )
7. He can (and does) spend hours on end playing computer games/video games.
8. He is really intersted in guns that have historical background. He has a few and I know he dreams of the guns he will someday own.

9. He hates cold weather (why do we live in MN?!).
10. He LOVES to snorkel. Any dream vacation for him would include snorkeling.

I just happened to stumble on your blog. Your son is ADORABLE (but I'm sure you already know that). Love his smiles. Love your blog! I somewhat agree with you about the Twilight cast, but I'll reserve further judgement until I at least see a trailer. =)
how can you not love lucas pukas, sitting in mucous! i especially love the love for guns and the history channel, and remember it well! so does tyler! love you guys!
Luke - the guitar? You have been holding out on us. Forget the pipe/chimes at Christmas, we are going to sit around a campfire and sing Frosty while you accompany us.
aw Luke. That was sweet. I still remember that picture you kept of him on your desk in King Henry... wasn't he playing the guitar?

Well, I knew most of those - but not the irrational fear of swallowing!! I'm not really surprised about the history book cover-to-cover thing though - He really does love reading!
