The Invention of Hugo Cabret

I first saw this children's book reviewed on Design Mom and it looked so good I requested it from the library. Despite being over 500 pages it is a really fast read--I finished it in one day. It has a great story and pages and pages (hence the 500) of illustrations. Design Mom gave a very accurate review...

First of all, get your hands on a copy of The Invention of Hugo Cabret, by Brian Selznick. It's a gorgeous volume, thick and heavy, but geared toward tweens. Sort of half graphic novel/half traditional novel. It's such a beautifully made book. I love holding it in my hands. The story is excellent and the volume is winning all sorts of awards.

It really is a great book--check it out!
