Six Short Months

It's hard to believe SIX months have already passed since Abby joined our family. She has us all wrapped around her little finger.

Jordan loves to show her off to everyone. The kids at the playground, the checkout lady at the grocery store, everyone at preschool, they are all familiar with her. He tells them her full name and that she is zero. He also loves to smother her. Most of the time she doesn't seem to mind.

Despite Luke's efforts, she still loves her thumb. We give her a binky when we put her down to sleep and she'll suck on it for a few and then let it fall out and pop her thumb in.

She's discovered her feet and loves to put them in her mouth. Along with anything else she can get her hands on. She loves to chew on our fingers, Sophie the Giraffe, blankets, everything! No signs of teeth yet.

She's not a fan of her stomach so she mastered rolling front to back a few weeks ago. While my dad was here this past week they worked on rolling back to front and today she did it twice.

She started solids last week. I threw out all sound advice and started with bananas and then yesterday she had apple sauce. She's not too sure about the texture but continues to open her mouth and whine for more.

She still gets up every three hours at night to nurse. It's exhausting but I remind myself it isn't forever and how lucky I am to be her momma. She does go right back to sleep so that helps.

She loves to make noise and scream and screech and babble.

We've spaced out her immunizations a bit . This last time she didn't even cry when she got her shot--wish I could say the same for her 5yr old brother!

She's a string bean at 13lbs 12oz and 26.5 in tall. She's in 6 month clothes.

Other things I want to remember:
Nicknames - Boss Baby, Thumbelina, Boogers, Princess Peanut Blossom, Bubbles
Still sleeps in the bassinet though she's about grown out of it.
Definitely knows what she likes/wants and makes sure to let you know.
Has a little bit of eczema on the backs of her knees and fronts of her arms that flares up every couple of weeks. Doesn't seem to bother her.
Takes a bit to warm up to people. Mom is her favorite but Daddy and Jordan are a pretty close second.

How fun. She is such a cutie! I like that the spoon seems as big as she is! Good luck with cleaning up all the solids . . .
