Abby's Blessing Day

A few days after Abby was born, Luke's parents were able to come and spend some time with us. They were a huge help! September is home show month for Luke which means he is super busy. With Luke's parents in town Jordan was totally spoiled spending time with Gma & Gpa, Luke's dad helped him run the booth at one of his home shows, and I was able to relax and get some much needed rest. We were so lucky to have them here!

Two weeks later we convinced them to come back in town for yet another home show and more importantly Abby's blessing. We were also so lucky to have my parents in town and Luke's sister and her family fly in from NYC. It was a party!

Sunday morning Luke blessed Abby in our ward's sacrament meeting. It was perfect.

Abby and her cousin Jonah were born a week apart. She may be a week older but Jonah definitely trumps her in size. And if you do the math you will figure out that Luke's sister Kari flew to NC two weeks after having a baby. She's amazing!

Originally we had planned on having Abby blessed in my grandmother's blessing dress. It was made in 1910 by her grandmother and she and her sisters were blessed in it, my aunt was blessed in it, and all of my cousins have blessed their daughters in it. Unfortunately Abby was way too small and the dress just drowned her. So at the last minute we found a beautiful little white dress and shrug for her to wear. She did get to wear my grandfather's locket that was passed down to me on my blessing day.

A very special day indeed! We were so grateful to have so much family in town to celebrate with us.
