Ciao Bella!

Last week I had the most wonderful time in Italy with my sister in law, mother in law, and aunt in law. We spent a few days in Rome, a few hours in Pisa, a few days in Stresa, and a few hours in Switzerland. It was WONDERFUL!

I took over 800+ pictures and have had the hardest time narrowing them down. So here are a few highlights from our trip...

throwing coins into Trevi Fountain to ensure a return trip to Rome

Eating RIDICULOUS amounts of Gelato. 2-3 times a day!
the collosseum at night
Standing in front of the HUGE doors at St. Peter's Basilica
Mailing a post card from the Vatican--I have always wanted to do that! (though for some reason I thought the box was supposed to be red...?)
the leaning tower of pisa

one of the islands on Lake Maggiore
one day I ordered fried fish for lunch. thinking it would be like fish and chips--a big piece of fried fish. nope! between the eyes looking at me and the tails still attached, I couldn't bring myself to eat them. yuck!
Our Hotel in Stressa ended up being five stars and absolutely AMAZING.

Ernest Hemingway stayed in this room (not ours) and it is now named after him and goes for thousands of dollars a night!
Locarno, Switzerland

My view of the Swiss Alps...from first class, the only way to fly. ;)

What an AMAZING trip!!! First class, great hotel, fantastic views! I am so jelous! I am so glad you got to go. Your pictures have definetly made me add Italy to my list of "must visit." Okay, it was already on the list, but this helps.

Oh! Wow! I had no idea you were going to Italy. SO fun. You made me VERY excited to get on that airplane in a couple of weeks!

Oh--and I am totally stealing your quilt idea. I loved your last post so much that I looked at the tutorial and am in the process right now. I'm having so much fun!

We loved ALL the pictures, and stories. What an amazing trip! Getting back to life must be terribly hard, especially after a care free trip like that.
